Or will my mind turn to mush and I will end up mumbling about toxins in some arid Arizona retreat for people who believe that the levels of toxins in modern life are too invasive to live amidst? Time will tell. My plan is to keep track of the experience online, so that if anyone is interested in doing some equally as crazy thing, they will have a record of how wise that decision is or is not.
Last night I took a laxative tea called Smooth Moves made by Traditional Medicinals it is about time someone had a sense of humor about substances that make you need to crap. In general I am not a person who likes to talk about the movements of their bowels, so it will be a challenge for me to share much about this well see how graphic I can get about such uncouth things (oh my). This morning I drank a quart of non iodized sea salt water (2 teaspoons sea salt to 1 quart of water). This was a really horrible experience, and the gag response to salt water is pretty intense. Its biology telling you, No stupid, feel the puking feeling in your throat that ripples through your soul that means salt water no good. Contrary to the opinion of my throat and soul however as the instructions say:
The salt and water will not separate but will stay intact and quickly and thoroughly wash the entire tract in about one hour. Several eliminations will likely occur. The salt water has the same specific gravity as the blood, hence the kidneys cannot pick up the water and the blood cannot pick up the salt.
Several eliminations did occur
Today I have been drinking the mixture that will sustain me for the next seven days. The following three days are for ramping back onto food safely. The mixture for the day or diabolic elixir of detoxification as I am calling it this hour consists of 8-10 freshly squeezed limes or lemons, 1 gallon of water and 2 teaspoons of cayenne pepper mixed in with about a cup of Grade B (darker more intense tasting) maple syrup. So basically a Vermont lemonade made by a Mexican yogic. Yumm.
It is surprisingly filling however, and I have only had a few waves of desire for food and no real hunger. That could be because I am running back and forth to the bathroom too often to actually notice how hungry I am.
At any rate I am on the road. Tonight I will get acupuncture. I am also planning to break out the waterpic I bought a month or so and see if I can work that without flooding the bathroom. Maybe I might do one of those strips that pulls out all the grime from your pores. I figure if I am going to detox, I should just clean up my act from top to bottom. Clean living here I come!
