An angel sang
with cherub’s beauty,
I forgot her tattered wings.
I know she aches
from holding worlds
of hopes that burn
her quiet dreams.
From climbing forth
from painful pit,
her back must ache
as wings are dragged.
And yet her voice
from heaven’s choir
cannot be stiffled
cannot be gagged.
I have seen this angel quiet,
holding up her
shoulders strong.
She emerged with
radiant beauty,
with wisdom fresh
and this new song.

I don’t know what to say about this. What a beautiful gift. What it is about how the acknoledgement of our plights in life by another person… somehow when it happens it validates my experience and makes me feel so much less alone in the journey. Christina, you know me so well, you put into poetry exactly how I feel, what I feel like I’ve been going through by singing these concerts. and how perfect that it is through poetry that you express your thoughts about it, given the music that we sang this weekend. Thank you for continuing to be a witness in my life, for holding me up so softly all the time. I love you,
Sherry

It is the truest forms of love that allow us to become mirrors to each other. You are never alone, sweetest woman. I love you and to hold you softly is all I could ever do, you are light as an angel’s feather.

This is so beautiful Chrissybug. What a treasure of images you invoked. Having been at the event and knowing the angel, I can say with great chorus – THANK YOU and BLESS YOU. I am so glad your poetry is here. It is the perfect addition to our quest for beauty, truth and goodness. Much love and respect!

Chrissybug,
I have been away from the blog for a while and just came across your latest poems. They are truly beautiful. The angel in your poem is an inspiration, and it makes me happy that despite her burdens she remains radient and strong.

Thank you for sharing.
