My friend Natasha and her caravan are back from New Orleans. Here is their blog, it’s powerful and packed with good information and resources if you’re interested in helping.

Thank you for pointing me to this again! It’s so important to read about the disaster in New Orleans from the perspective of normal people who went down to help in any way they could, with no agenda, no expectataions. It has reached a point where these are the only types of accounts that I am interested in reading when it comes to newsworthy events that happen in this country, or for that matter, in this world. Thanks, SS.

Unlikely they’ll have any time for D.S. Natasha was going 1 million miles an hour when I saw her Tuesday, and she was leaving at 10pm to go back to New Orleans. I’ll continue to post their blog site as it’s updated.

Thanks for sharing Sherry. Isn’t it amazing that we can remain in communication with others doing such great things? By Blogging, they are able to share such amazing work! Even if we can’t go and help and even if we can’t support them financially, at least we can sympathize with them and keep them in our thoughts and prayers and know that really amazing people are working so hard to make the world better. Kick ass Todd and Natasha, Kick ass.

Thanks, Zoe, for pointing me to this blog. I look forward to the day that I can respond more actively (yo, retirement!) to calls for help. Hard to see that my work/life don’t allow me to just get up and go.

I just sent this newsworthy link to the radio show DEMOCRACY NOW! Amy Goodman (host of DEMOCRACY NOW!) spoke today about the leaders of this country–no not those testosterone imbalanced so-called leaders–but people who are willing to stand up in the face of sufferiing and put their voices, time, energy on the line; people like Natasha, Todd and the people who contributed to Common Ground Relief.

These are America’s new leaders, in name and in deed.
